Handmade from wax and melted over a candle; this piece was formed into shape with stone in place to create a delicate statement ring.

The ring is a full and imperfectly formed circle; reminiscent of the Japanese symbol Enso. Enso is a sacred symbol in Zen Buddhism meaning ‘circle’ or ‘circle of togetherness’.  This symbol is traditionally drawn using only one brushstroke as a meditative practice in letting go of the mind and allowing the body to create. The singular brushstroke allows for no modifications.  This also brings into play a Japanese aesthetic, ‘wabi-sabi’ which loosely translated is the beauty in imperfection in nature.  This ring is created so that this circle ‘floats’ away from the finger leaving the stone to secure it in place.  The stone is a champagne gemstone that is set in molten metal and sits nicely within the larger circle.

This ring can run a little large and can be adjusted to fit by gently bending the stone section; it looks great on your index finger.
